In our family we joke about having been raised by a camera since no event ever went undocumented. Even in the film days, my mom maintained an enviable catalog of family photo albums. I learned early on how important it was to capture all of the important moments in life, no matter how small. Nothing can bring you back to the emotions and memories of a day like a photo. Â
I became a photographer for the simple reason that I love documenting life. Within minutes of starting to second shoot my first wedding I was completely hooked. I quickly realized how photography is so much more than just about the images. It’s about the people and the connection you make with them that make great images. At every shoot, I still get giddy when I know we have captured a great shot. I love those natural candid moments filled with loving glances, smiles, laughter and sometimes even tears. That’s the good stuff, the real stuff, that makes for cherished photos. Â
I feel ridiculously lucky to be working as a photographer. It’s a busy life but I love that I have a job where laughter and having fun can only make things better. I love that something I capture might be treasured by someone fifty years from now. I love that being unique and thinking outside the box is a good thing.  Hundreds of weddings and portrait sessions later, I still get butterflies of nervousness, anticipation and excitement for each shoot.Â
