Two lovebirds get hitched at the Barn at Gibbet Hill

Ken and Kelly live down South so we never met in person before the wedding day. I was excited about their wedding from our phone conversations and emails as I knew they had a beautiful wedding with lots of great, thoughtful details planned. I also knew they would plan a fabulous party since Kelly’s parents own an amazing restaurant called Tastings in Patriot Place so they knew a few things about how to host an amazing event. But the second I met both Kelly and Ken on their wedding day, I got even more excited about the day ahead. Kelly jumped out of the van when they arrived and gave me a big hug and Ken was smiling from ear to ear when I walked into the bar to meet up with the guys. I could tell within seconds of meeting them just how in love they were and how happy they were that their big day was here to celebrate their love in front of their friends and family and start the rest of their lives together.

I arrived at Gibbet Hill to a perfect blue sky. As the ceremony got closer some fluffy white clouds accented the blue sky to set the perfect backdrop for their outdoor ceremony. They didn’t want to see each other before the ceremony but they held hands with a door between them as they exchanged cards, gifts and “i love yous” beforehand. Even though I had just met them, I teared up for the third time that day :-) . They had a ton of stunning flowers everywhere courtesy of my favorite florist, the VERY talented Rachel O’Neil. Ken’s sister performed a very personal and touching ceremony. As part of the ceremony, they nailed a wooden box shut that was filled with champagne and love letters they had written to each other to be opened on their ten year wedding anniversary. After the ceremony we headed off to take some pictures around all of the awesome spots the venue had to offer as the sun started to set. While we did photos, the guests enjoyed a cocktail hour on the deck complete with cider donuts and a raw bar. The reception was a well planned party starting with their first dance under perfect lighting, white lights and a gorgeous reflection on the woodfloor. The night continued with heartwarming toasts (again, I teared up more than once), a DELICIOUS dinner and then a packed dance floor to music played by Ken’s cousin who had driven up all the way from Florida with his equipment to play their event. There was never a dull moment on the dance floor with Kelly’s Dad leading the way with the dance moves.

Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Mack. I hope you enjoyed your day. You could not have hand picked a better day to get married on and everything you planned was so amazing surrounded by such great people. Hope you are enjoying your honeymoon. Here’s a sneak peek of what we snagged.

I had to include this shot which we’ll title “Brown Blankie Emergency”. This is the father of the flower girl rushing back to pictures with her blankie :-) .
